According to their website shorteststpats.com, Saturday's activities start with a Blarney Stone Kissing Contest at5:30PM. Then more festivities kick off at6:30PM with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and hula hooper, Katie Sunshine followed by the official measuring of the parade route. The parade begins at7:30PM. Other parade participates include The Budweiser Clydesdales, celebrity Grand Marshal Joey Fatone of *NSYNC and Jon Heder of “Napoleon Dynamite” who will be the parade's starter. The parade will be followed by a post-parade party with Morris Day and The Time performing.
And to think it all started with a group of friends of Irish decent getting together at their favorite place for a drink. The "pub" they gathered in was located in downtown Hot Springs on the shortest every day working street, Bridge Street is only 98 feet long! The group of friends came up with the brilliant idea to have the Shortest St.Patrick's Day parade in the world. And the rest is history...
