Spinner.com has put together a list of the Top 23 Fake Bands, which are "the best fictional music groups of film and TV."

However, some of the first ones that may come to mind... Spinal Tap, the Monkees, the Blues Brothers, Flight of the Conchords... were NOT included, because, quote, "they're just too real."

We're assuming that's because they basically became REAL bands, and actually released albums and / or went on tour.

Here's the list:

.)  Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem... from "The Muppet Show"

.)  Frozen Embryos... from "My So-Called Life"

.)  Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld... from "South Park"

.)  Scrantonicity... from "The Office"

.)  The Weird Sisters... from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"

.)  Mouse Rat ... from "Parks and Recreation"

.)  Barry Jive and the Uptown 5 / Sonic Death Monkey... from "High Fidelity"

.)  Phish Tahko... from "My Name Is Earl"

.)  Sexual Chocolate... from "Coming to America"

.)  Hep Alien... from "Gilmore Girls"

.)  The Zits... from "Degrassi Junior High"

.)  Chemical Toilet and Electric Dream Machine... from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"

.)  The Be Sharps... from "The Simpsons"

.)  Drive Shaft... from "Lost"

.)  Zack Attack... from "Saved By the Bell"

.)  Mystik Spiral... from "Daria"

.)  Dingoes Ate My Baby... from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"

.)  The Silver Platters... from "The Brady Bunch"

.)  Wyld Stallyns... from "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"

.)  Crucifictorious... from "Friday Night Lights"

.)  The Blowholes... from "The Adventures of Pete and Pete"

.)  Creation, Mission Control... from "Freaks and Geeks"

(I can't believe that they didn't put "Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters" on there... or "Eddie & The Cruisers"... And even though they weren't a band, I always thought that was the way "Sigmund and The Sea Monsters" should have gone... but instead they brought in Rip Taylor, as Sigmund's Genie... A Genie??? That's when the show became unbelievable to me... by the way that kid Johnny Whitaker released 11 songs from that show on an album titled "Friends" so, it would've made sense.... Hey, whatever happened to Mr. French? I heard Buffy OD'd.)
