What if figuring out someone's password was as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6? Sometimes it IS!

Splash Data recently released its annual rankings of the worst passwords.

This year “123456” has the top spot as the worst, knocking “password” from the top of the list to number the number two position for the first time since SplashData began putting the list together.

Analyzing files of millions of stolen passwords over the last year is how SplashData’s rankings were created. For a better and more secure password, SplashData recommends using at least eight characters mixing numerals, letters and symbols, along with spaces.
