Nostalgic Vintage Store Like a Trip Back in Time in Jefferson, TX

As I am writing this story it is Throwback Thursday and if you love nostalgic items as I do then you are going to love the store Vinyl aka Caddo Mercantile Antiques in Jefferson, Texas.

While there are plenty of vintage antiques, Vinyl takes you back in time as soon as you walk through the big wooden doors. There are so many cool things to see it's almost mind-blowing from vintage rock n' roll T-shirts from legendary Jimi Hendrix, ACDC, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and many more which you can purchase. As you stroll around the store you can sit and relax on a vintage couch and just take in all the stuff in this very unique shop. The smell of incense fills the store with a huge peace sign near the back of the store that makes you feel like a love child of the 60s or a hippie.

Record Collection

I'm a huge record buff, you can't have a sign out front that says Vinyl and not have any vinyl. They have a huge collection of albums from just about every era, including 45s and 33s and even a few 78s. You just might find that rare hidden gem or hard-to-find album browsing through the record bins.

Whether you collect albums like I do or you have some you want to sell, Vinyl will buy your records as long as they are in good condition.

You ought to see some of the old vintage record players and speakers even an 8-track tape player and huge reel-to-reel recorders I used when starting out in radio many years ago.

One of the things that made me say, "Far Out Man" was the big wall of speakers.

One of my favorite sections is the cameras, I have never seen so many varieties of old cameras some of which I can remember my dad having.

Next up was an old Mobil gas station pump, talk about bringing back some memories.

They also had a great collection of old military uniforms too.

And if that's not enough there's more stuff upstairs like old signs and other cool merchandise that would fit into any man cave, according to Mollye Moore, the store manager.

Vinyl is like a museum, record store, and gift shop all wrapped into one. If you're looking for something extraordinary to give as a gift you are most likely to find it at Vinyl in Jefferson.

So, the next time you visit Jefferson make sure you stop at Vinyl (Caddo Mercantile Antiques) at 115 East Austin Street for a trip back in time and a blast from the past. I'm surprised they didn't have a flux capacitor!

Oh, make sure you take a photo of yourself standing next to the vintage VW beetle peace van around the corner from the store. I thought I would have seen Cheech and Chong!
