The historic town of Jefferson, Texas will be decking the halls outdoors for its Annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 27.

The parade will begin at 6 PM and travel through downtown where it will conclude at Lions Park for the "Enchanted Forest" Tree Lighting Ceremony that officially welcomes the Christmas season. Your eyes will light up when you see over 100 dazzling Christmas trees fully lighted and decorated, sponsored by various businesses, organizations, and individuals.

To help set the festive mood there will be Christmas caroling, live entertainment, and the grand finale the lighting of the trees. Bring the kids to visit Santa Claus as he will arrive by a big ol' fire truck.

Christmas Express Train

In addition, make your way over to the decorated train the Railway Christmas Express an antique gas-powered locomotive that will take you on a magical journey through the piney woods, wetlands, bayou, and river views of East Texas all while hearing stories about the Wonder of Christmas with vignettes and scenes along the way. Scenes will only be lit during the Railway of Lights that happens on the 6 PM tour.

The day train departs at 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM, 6 PM, and runs from November 26-27, and then again on December 4, 11, 18, 25. The train will only run at 6 PM on Christmas Day.

$12 and lap kids are free. The historic Jefferson Railway is located at 400 East Austin Street.

Get the feeling of an old-time Christmas as you visit some of Jefferson's most charming, lavish, and historical homes fully decorated for the holiday season. The first week of tours is Dec. 2, 3, and 4, and the following week tour dates will be Dec. 9,10,11. There will also be romantic horse-driven carriage rides available.
