I love Hot Air Balloons! This Saturday, June 5 you will want to check out the 'Hot Air Balloon Glow' in Jefferson, Texas hosted by the Jefferson Texas Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. Hot air balloons are beautiful to see in the air but to get up and close to one that is on the ground is an amazing sight to see especially when they are lit up at night.

The event will begin Saturday evening at 5:30 and the 'Glow' will begin at sunset where you'll see the balloons light up the Jefferson sky. You can also take a tethered ride up to 20 feet for just $20. There will also be food trucks with food for purchase.
I've always been fascinated with hot air balloons. When I was a teenager one of my sisters and I volunteered as chasers at a balloon festival in Plano. We were assigned to a specific balloon team and would follow the balloon in our car so we could help put the balloon away when it came down and we were also there to give the rider a lift back to the festival and lastly in case of an emergency. I've also had the chance to ride in a balloon three times! And yes each time it was awesome! Once the balloon is up, it's amazing how quiet it is when the balloon is just floating. You can even hear dogs barking on the land below.
The Hot Air Balloon Glow will be taking place at the Cypress River Airport located at 270 Cypress River Road in Jefferson, Texas.
The entry fee is $10 Per Vehicle and $20 Per Person for a Tethered Balloon Ride.
