The Union Grove Texas School Board has voted on and passed a new policy to allow select staff members to carry concealed weapons as a line of defense on their campuses.

The school board met on Thursday (Jan. 17) and the new measure passed. Final details still need to be worked out and the school district will implement the policy within the next few months.

The measure has the support of parents and students. The Union Grove ISD Facebook page states that the district has approximately 750 students.
