A week ago when I was driving around town I noticed something a little odd. It was the basic setup of a neighborhood but it looks like the project had been abandoned.

This neighborhood is on the Arkansas side of town around the Texarkana Country Club and just off of Country Club Road. It sits on a street named Quarry Drive, which is what Google Maps says. It looks like it would have made for a pretty place to call home.

This is a picture of the front entry to the proposed neighborhood. I think It even has a developer's name on it. It is quite a bit overgrown from years of sitting.

A look at the main entry into the neighborhood. It looks like it has been sitting here for a while waiting on someone to begin building their dream home.

This picture shows the fence surrounding the neighborhood. It looks like this would have been a very neat place to have a home.

This last picture is where I would build a house. it is one of only three streets that are complete In this abandoned neighborhood. You can see the remnants of the fence that surrounds the neighborhood in the background. By the looks of the general layout, this addition would have modest homes in lots that are about average in size. About the same size as the neighborhood I live in now.

I do really wonder what happened to this place. It looks like it had everything going for it. It is in the city limits, it is in a good location, the house size would mean it would fill up quickly, and it is located just a little off of the beaten path with a lot of trees to help keep the area quiet for the loop that borders the east side of the development.
