Chobani has recalled a number of different sized Greek yogurt products. This prompted me to look in my refrigerator for the code 16-012 on the container as well as an expiration date between Sept. 11 and Oct. 7.

According to the Huffington Post, the following products have been affected:

  • Chobani six ounce cups
  • Chobani 16 ounce tubs
  • Chobani 32 ounce tubs
  • Chobani 3.5 ounce cups
  • Chobani Bite 3.5 ounce cups
  • Chobani Flip 5.3 ounce containers
  • Chobani Champions 3.5 ounce cups
  • Chobani Champions 2.25 ounce tubes

In a letter to fans of his product, Chobani owner Hamdi Ulukaya apologized for letting his fans and customers down. He continues,

From the workers in our factories to our sales teams on the road, there is nothing we take greater pride in than making a perfect cup of yogurt... My heartfelt apologies to our friends, fans and consumers who were impacted, as your loyalty and safety is something we cherish and never take for granted. We have worked round the clock to fully fix the issue and have been shipping fresh product to stores."

I for one want to thank Chobani for being so proactive in telling consumers there could be a problem with the yogurt they recently purchased.

Now where did I put that receipt so that I can return the yogurt I bought two days ago?
