Cottonmouth

This snake is found in most of Arkansas. It has a very distinct white mouth they open when threatened. Cottonmouths are also known as Water Moccasins and can grow up to 3 feet in lenght.

Western Diamond Back Rattlesnake

This is actually known as Arkansas rarest snake. It can grow up to 6 feet long and the diamond patterns on its back and the rattler are sure signs you need to stay far far away from this snake.

Copperhead

These snakes have a distinct rust color and these snakes can be up to 3 feet in length. They also have an hourglass pattern along their back.

Timber Rattlesnake 

These snakes are found all over Arkansas, in forests, and even in trees. They can get as big as five feet long. They do have a very distinct black tail.

Texas Coral Snake

This is one of the rarest snakes and is only found in southern Arkansas west of the Ouachita River. It is a small snake at only 2 feet in length and it is only about the diameter of a pencil.

Western Pygmy Rattlesnake

This small snake is known for its red stripe down its backbone and its black cross bands. It had a spearhead-shaped head. These snakes grow to be only 20 inches long.
