The City of Texarkana Parks and Recreation Department will open registration for the 2017 Southwest Center Summer Camp May 22.

Camp will begin June 19 and conclude July 21, with a one week break from July 3-7.

Registration cost is $150 per child. Camp is open to ages 6-14 and will operate Monday through Friday from 9AM  to 4PM. Breakfast, lunch and transportation for field trips will be provided by Texarkana Independent School District and are included in the registration fee.

According to the city press release, campers will spend their days taking field trips to the movies, the Rotary Club Splash Pad, the bowling alley, and much more.

Programs include arts and crafts, projects and other fun activities. Fridays will feature a Fun Pizza Day that will be sponsored by local restaurants and businesses.

The Southwest Center will be offering a myriad of summer classes and activities for the public as well. Zumba classes will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday each week in the mornings from 9 to 10AM, and from 6 to 7PM. Yoga will be offered every Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30PM.
