Recently the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department Criminal Investigation Division have been investigating reports of armed robberies committed by an unknown black male with a knife. 

The reported incidents began when the victims responded to an ad posted on Craig’s List for personal services.   Once meetings were set up and a location was agreed upon, the suspect would approach the victim in the parking lot, robbing them at knifepoint.  In one of the incidents the suspect forced the victim to drive to an ATM for money.

Detectives developed information that led to the identification of 28-year old Kevin Smith, Smith was arrested on February 28, 2018 at 5PM, during the execution of a search warrant at his residence in the 2100 block of Preston Street.  Smith was found hiding from officers in the attic of the apartment.

Smith has been charged with 5 counts of Aggravated Robbery.
