University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Iron Horse Shooting Team competed in the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships in San Antonio, Texas, on March 26 through April 1. The Iron Horse Team finished seventh place in all-around American events for their division and eighth place in high overall points.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana will hold "Camp Save-A-Life" at the Hope and Texarkana campuses this summer. The Camp will be held on the Hope campus June 25 through June 28 and on the Texarkana campus July 23 through July 27. The camp is for students who have finished 6th grade through age 14.

The University of Arkansas Hope - Texarkana is hosting a "Job Fair" for students and former students on Thursday, April 5 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on the Hope, Arkansas Campus inside Hempstead Hall.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana recently received a grant from the Gene Haas Foundation. The $1,000 grant will be used to support scholarships and NIMS credentialing for students training on the new computer numerical control (CNC) machine which is built into the curriculum of the Industrial Maintenance Programs at UAHT.

Teaching proposals for Kids’ College at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana are being accepted now.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is partnering with the Prescott Public School District, Adult Education, and the Nevada County Office of Economic Development to offer an evening Basic Welding Course at the Prescott High School campus. Spring classes will meet on Monday and Tuesday nights from 6PM to 8:45PM.  Classes begin Tuesday, January 9.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is proud to announce the establishment of the Christa Shockley Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Christa, a former, beloved student at the U of A Texarkana campus passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017. This endowment was created by the diligent fundraising efforts of her family, church, UAHT faculty and staff members, and E-Z Mart, Inc. to honor her memory

The 2017 U of A Hope-Texarkana Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year, Mark Wilcox, was recognized at the Annual Arkansas Community College’s Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, on October 17.

The 2017 U of A Hope-Texarkana Outstanding Staff Member of the Year, Bernice McDonald, was recognized at the Annual Arkansas Community College’s Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, on October 17.

The 2017 U of A Hope-Texarkana Academic All-Star Award was presented to Xavier McDonald of Hope, Arkansas, on Tuesday, October 17 at the Annual Arkansas Community College’s Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Nicole Woods of Hope, Arkansas, has been named the Director of the new Upward Bound Program at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana. According to a press release, Woods has served at the college as an Educational Specialist and a Student Support Specialist for the last three years. She holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree and a Master’s of Education in Student Affairs and Coll

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana announced last week the establishment of the Martha Funderburk Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Named after the late Martha Funderburk, long-time beloved UAHT instructor, the purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students pursuing a certificate or degree at UAHT. Martha’s son, Kevin Funderburk, said, “My mom wanted to help students
