University to Offer Night Welding Class at Prescott High
The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana is partnering with the Prescott Public School District, Adult Education, and the Nevada County Office of Economic Development to offer an evening Basic Welding Course at the Prescott High School campus. Spring classes will meet on Monday and Tuesday nights from 6PM to 8:45PM. Classes begin Tuesday, January 9.
According to a press release, the four-credit hour course is open to current high school students, high school graduates, and current Adult Education students who are enrolled and in good standing in a Nevada County Adult Education Program and meet course requirements. Tuition and Fees for the course are $450. The rental cost for the textbook is $80 and the welding kit and supplies cost is $110. All costs are approximate. Students can bring their tools and supplies if they already own them.
Nevada County residents and Nevada County Adult Education students may qualify for the U-CAN Scholarship at UAHT. The U-CAN Scholarship offers Nevada County residents, who meet specific requirements, the opportunity to take a free three-credit hour class. Students may also be eligible for financial aid if they are seeking a degree.
