It's been a long time coming but a popular Texarkana restaurant has finally reopened its doors for business and just in time for the 4th of July weekend.

Silver Star Smokehouse and Saloon is now open for business with limited hours.

"There is still some roof work repairs that is ongoing so that's the reason we're not open for lunch just yet but we're open for dinner at 4 p.m. said, Silver Star Manager Donnie Spriggs.  July 12th, is looking like the date we go back to regular hours.

The restaurant has been closed since February 13, when 26 pipes burst during the snowstorm causing the restaurant to close. That's when a decision was made that the restaurant would get a total renovation or makeover from the exterior to the interior. The roof is all new including many of the light fixtures, walls, decor, bar area, restrooms, and the Longhorn banquet room, all with a new color scheme that really gives the feel of a Texas ranch. The balcony is now gone and it really opens up the high ceilings even more.

The bar area has been completely redone with well-stocked beverages that almost goes to the ceiling. In fact, they have a saloon moving ladder in order to reach drinks on the higher shelves.

The bar has even two new drinks to their bar menu you're going to love. Let's just say something tropical.

And if you wondering about the food, Silver Star has an all-new kitchen that will be serving up some of your all-time smokehouse favorites like their world-famous Texas BBQ ribs, brisket, smoked sausage, burgers, country-fried steaks, and some of the best-tasting USDA-certified Angus steaks this side of the Red River.  They've even taken a few Mexican favorites from their restaurant "Cantina" in Shreveport and added them to their new menu like quesadillas, enchiladas, with a variety of street tacos like grilled chicken, pulled pork, smoked brisket, and grilled shrimp.

Are you hungry yet? One of the things that I have learned from eating at the Silver Star Smokehouse they don't ever let you leave hungry and the service is always great.

The Silver Star is back open and looks to be shining brightly for years to come! The Silver Star Smokehouse is located at 5205 West Park Blvd.
