The weather could get a little rough in the Texarkana area later this afternoon into the early evening hours.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 6PM this Tuesday evening. The watch area includes most all of the Four States Area including of course Bowie and Miller Counties in the Texarkana area.

A watch simply means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and near the watch area.

Severe Thunderstorms often mean heavy rain, damaging winds, large hail, and deadly lightning.

Should thunderstorms develop and become severe then warnings will be issued for specific counties and locations in the path of any such storms.

While there are no tornado watches out, isolated tornadoes, particularly in Spring cannot be ruled out.

Remember should severe storms strike, take cover in a sturdy shelter, preferably on a lower floor near the center of your home and away from windows and glass if possible.
