SAU to Usher in The Christmas Season With Celebration of Lights December 1 in Magnolia, ARK
Usher in the holidays with the Southern Arkansas University Celebration of Lights, which will be held December 1, 2016, on the SAU campus in Magnolia, ARK.
The annual event kicks off with the Family Christmas Movie at 3PM in Foundation Hall. Showings are also scheduled for 5PM and 7PM. Personalized photo mugs will be available at no charge in the Reynolds Center Plaza from 4PM - 8PM. The Magnolia Christmas Parade, “Magnolia’s Night of Twinkling Lights,” begins at 5PM. RHA Overstreet Lighting is at 6PM and features greetings by RHA members and Dr. Trey Berry, president of SAU; Lighting of the Christmas Tree by the Berry family as well as the Lighting of the Centennial Tree; caroling by SAU Heritage and Chamber Singers, and refreshments.
Reynolds Center activities include photos with Santa and Angel Tree adoptions from 6 PM - 8PM and the announcement of parade winners and the lighting of the bell tower at 6:20 PM. Also, Magnolia Presbyterian Church members will play hand bells on the Reynolds Center Plaza and Mall.
A buffet dinner follows in the Grand Hall of the Reynolds Center, 6PM -8PM. Adult tickets are $8.50 and children’s tickets (ages 5-12) are $4. Children under the age of 5 eat free. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Finally, the SAU family musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” will be performed at 7PM at Harton Theatre.
