The Texarkana College Board of Trustees is asking the citizens of Bowie County, which was recently annexed into the College District to nominate qualified, interested persons for consideration for the TC Board of Trustees. The board is needing to fill two board seats with good leaders from the newly annexed area quickly. The college would like to review applications in December and make appointments soon after.

Those interested in nominating themselves or others for the Board may email notice of interest and qualifications to newboardmember@texarkanacollege.edu.

One vacant seat is the result of longtime board member Randy Moore pledging to resign his seat if Bowie County voters approved the College's annexation measure in the November election. The other seat belonged to newly elected board member Jean Cotten, who passed away in August.

These appointments will be temporary until the next election in November of 2013. At that time every single trustee and all challengers will need to run for election for a position. To encourage voter participation, the trustees have moved board elections from May to November.
