It's almost Margarita time! National Margarita Day is coming up this Thursday, February 22.

National Margarita Day was development by Todd McCalla for no other reason (at least according to the website) than his love for margaritas. There are several stories out there about how and where the drink originated. But the story that to me seems to be the most realistic is according to Wikipedia:

One of the earliest stories is of the Margarita being invented in 1938 by Carlos "Danny" Herrera at his restaurant Rancho La Gloria, halfway between Tijuana and RosaritoMexico, created for customer and former Ziegfeld dancer Marjorie King, who was allergic to many spirits, but not to tequila.

Other stories date into the 1940's. Wherever and however the margarita came into existence really doesn't matter. It's here and it's here to stay. Can you really imagine a happy hour without a margarita? So, on to the important question. How do you like your margaritas? Take our poll below.
