Miller County Extension Announces New Youth Leadership Academy
The Miller County Cooperative Extension Office is pleased to announce the launch of the Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy. The Academy is an innovative, week-long youth leadership program for area students interested in learning more about the expansive agricultural industry in the four states area.
The Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy will be held June 3-7 and will feature tours of area agribusinesses from the various facets of agriculture and natural resources that influence the regional economy. Academy attendees will also work on personal leadership development throughout the week.
“We are very excited to offer such an exciting program,” said Hanan Douglas, Miller County 4-H Extension Agent. “By providing students with the opportunity to learn about the industries in their own back yard, we hope they’ll discover new career options that they may have been unaware of before.”
The camp is open to students who will be enrolled in high school during the Fall 2019 semester. Students who are interested in attending must fill out an application by Monday, April 15 to be considered. The cost of the camp is $75.00.
