We have all heard fishing stories where the fish gets bigger and bigger every time the story is told. Well, hears a fishing story that doesn't need any exaggeration.

An Arkansas man was recently fishing on the Upper White River near Goshen, Arkansas and he landed the big one from his kayak! We are talking a 102-pound Paddlefish. That's like another passenger in his kayak.

Robert Murphy of Fayetteville, AR recently landed this 102-lb Paddlefish (spoonbill) on the Upper White River near Goshen, AR. Robert was fishing for Walleye in his kayak when he accidentally snagged the large zooplankton-eating fish. After a battle that lasted over an hour, Robert was finally able to land the prehistoric river monster.

The AGFC said that these fish gather in the southern part of Beaver Lake during spring. Robert's catch isn't the biggest one caught in the state but it's pretty close. Back in 2020, there was one caught that weighed 118 lb 9 oz.

But 102 pounds is a lot of fish and to be caught and...from a kayak? That is a crazy big fish story that Robert won't have to exaggerate in years to come.
