Led Zeppelin have revealed further details of the 50th anniversary book they’ve been working on.

Titled Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin, the 368-page hardback will be published in October via Reel Art Press and is available for pre-order now. Surviving band members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones are credited as the book's authors.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin is the first and only official illustrated book to be produced in collaboration with the members of the band,” the publisher's description reads. “Celebrating 50 years since their formation, it covers the group’s unparalleled musical career and features photographs of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham on and offstage, in candid moments and in the recording studio. This definitive 368-page volume includes unseen photographs and artwork from the Led Zeppelin archives and contributions from photographers around the world.”

Guitarist Page reported last year that he was working on releasing previously unheard music to help mark the anniversary. “There’ll be Led Zeppelin product coming out for sure that people haven’t heard, because I’m working on that,” he said. “Next year will be the 50th year, so there’s all manner of surprises coming out.” The band also announced the release of a remastered version of the 2003 live album How the West Was Won in a variety of new formats on March 23.

Singer Plant was asked last month about the chances of working with Page again, especially in light of Zeppelin's 50th anniversary this year. "I don’t know. I have no idea,” he said. “It’s not even within my countenance to imagine it really.” He accepted that Led Zeppelin were “dear to the hearts” of many and added, “Me too – nobody more than me. I don’t want to do it a disservice, either.”
