Get ready for the 25th annual Taste of Texarkana to benefit Harvest Texarkana on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 from 5-8PM at the Four States Fairgrounds Entertainment Center.

New this year to the Taste of Texarkana will be the Harvest Market Place where visitors will be able to purchase goods from several vendors. One of those vendors will include Be the Blessing Bakery from the Randy Sams' Outreach Shelter.

Cathy Smith, Bakery Director, said she is looking forward to participating in the Taste of Texarkana’s Harvest Market Place.

“We are going to be in the Market Place with bread pudding with caramel sauce, peach cobbler, assorted gourmet cookies and our premium cupcakes.”

Treasure Journeys, Home of TJ Texas Pecans, will also be a part of the new Harvest Marketplace at the event.

"We are super excited about bringing our Texas-based products into the Texarkana area for the very first time," said owner Jerry Morrison. Treasure Journeys is family owned and operated and has been around for more than 10 years.

TJ Texas Pecans are their specialty, featuring sweet and spicy praline-pecan flavors.

"Our pecans are not imported.  We make them up in small batches which makes them really fresh. They are not sitting in some warehouse or distribution center for a period of time," said, Morrison.

Custom gift baskets are also available for sale on their website and Morrison plans on bringing some to sale at Taste of Texarkana. "We can also do gift baskets in the shape of Arkansas" said Morrison. Treasure Journeys also has a variety of gifts for every occasion like jams and jellies, soups, coffee, salsa, seasonings and more.

Texarkana's newest meat market, Lagniappe Specialty Meats will be on hand too, offering up some samples of their fresh cut meats and products.

In all, more than 40 food and beverage vendors will be offering samples of their best dishes from the Texarkana area. Vendors will also be vying for several awards during the night including Best of Taste, Greatest Gourmet, Taster's Choice, Most Spirit, Crowd Favorite, and Best Theme.

VIP tickets are $50 and include reserved seating, entertainment and other perks. VIP tables are also available. Adult tickets are $20 in advance ($25 at the door) and kids (12 and under) are $10 both in advance and at the door.

Tickets may be purchased online at Harvest Regional Flood Bank or at any TEXAR location, Bryce’s Cafeteria, Julie’s, Dot’s Ace Hardware, Vincent’s Fine Wines, Super 1 Foods, and Harvest Regional Food Bank.
