The flu season seems to getting off to a fast start in our area this fall.

Some cases have already been reported, which is unfortunately ahead of schedule for the flu bug.

The Arkansas Department of Health-Miller County Unit will be administering the flu shots at the health unit at 503 Walnut Street in Texarkana, ARK. Times will be between 8:30AM and 4PM this Friday, October 6.

They do ask that you bring your medicaid, medicare, or any type of insurance cards if you have one.

The agency says there is no out of pocket cost to anyone regardless if you have insurance or not.

The shot is for anyone over 6 months of age.

Officials ask that you wear short sleeves so that if will be easier, and quicker to administer the shot. If you have difficulty entering the building they will gladly come to your vehicle to administer the vaccine.
