Felony Friday: TTPD is Looking For Demarsha Cook and Friends
It's time once again for Felony Friday from our friends at the Texarkana Texas Police Department. This week we're featuring Demarsha Cook and some friends who started off who's brazen store thefts have turned into a major problem.
The following story is from the TTPD Facebook Page as posted on Friday, August 14, 2020:
We are telling you about Demarsha Cook, who – along with a small group of 3-4 of her friends – was a very busy woman in July of last year. During that month, they managed to hit several different stores in Texarkana and got away with a total of almost $15,000 in stolen merchandise. Their typical MO was for all of them to go in the store at the same time and gather up as much stuff as they could possibly carry before running out the door. Sometimes, they were in and out before the employees even realized what was happening. Then they disappeared for several days before doing it all over again at another store. It was only after we figured out that they were all from the Shreveport/Bossier area that we were finally able to identify them. Apparently, they’re pretty well known for this sort of thing down there. Now, we know who they are up here too.
We were able to get felony theft warrants on all of this little group, and we’ve been able to arrest most of them – but not Demarsha yet. But with your help, we hope to move her name over to the “completed” column on this case very soon.
The last known address that we have for her is in Shreveport but that hasn’t panned out so far. If you know where she is now, please call us at 903-798-3116. If you’re needing a little extra spending money for school supplies or maybe a last-minute summer vacation, you can call the Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP. They’ll pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect in a felony crime. Demarsha has seven theft warrants herself.
If you know where to find Demarsha Cook, please contact the Texarkana Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
