Drive-Up Coronavirus Testing On Arkansas Side
Lansdell Family Clinic, with the support of the Arkansas-side coronavirus Emergency Operations Center, has organized five drive-up coronavirus screening and testing stations in the parking lot beside Cash Saver supermarket in the 82 Plaza shopping center located at 3639 E. Ninth St. Texarkana, AR.
Approximately 30 health care workers wearing personal protective equipment (face masks, gloves, head coverings, gowns and some in full anti-contamination suits) are screening and testing people for COVID-19. This process allows people to stay in their cars when. being screened or tested.
According to Mick Martin, the clinic's operations manager, the day began with about 1,500 tests. The Little Rock-based Natural State Laboratories will analyze the test samples and will return results in about three days.
Those getting tested provided photo IDs and insurance cards, which were placed in a plastic bag before they were photocopied. Those receiving test were handed clipboards through the window that held questionnaires. Each were given a different pen.
As it stands, 64 coronavirus tests have been performed in Miller County, Arkansas with eight positive results, 58 negative results, according to the Arkansas Department. of Health. This doesn't include results from tests performed at the drive-up testing center today (Monday, April 6, 2020)
