Dog With World’s Longest Tongue Is Utterly Wagtastic
This pooch is tongues of fun.
A Saint Bernard from Sioux Falls, S.D. is the owner of a world record that may make her the envy of pooches around the world: she's got the longest tongue for a dog.
Mochi, a rescue who also goes by Mo, has a tongue that's 7.31 inches long, which is good enough to be recognized by Guinness.
Mochi, 8, obliterated the old record, which was a mere four-and-a-half inches, courtesy of a Pekingese.
Unfortunately, not all is perfect in Mochi's world. His owner, Carla Rickert, says while the pup has a good disposition, she has some breathing issues, slobbers a lot, has to be handed treats in a particular fashion and struggles to get things off the floor.
“Mo is resilient, comical, loving and eternally grateful and loyal to us-— her forever family," Rickert says, reports PEOPLE. "This once abused and neglected pup has taught us that it’s okay to be different. We are proud of her unique feature."
Amazingly, Mochi's tongue falls short of the all-time record: there was a boxer whose tongue unfurled to an astonishing one foot, five inches.
