Usually, by now, we would be right in the middle of some of the biggest summer blockbusters in the theaters. But due to the ever-changing status of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cinemark has had to reschedule or delay its openings in many cities including Texarkana.

However, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. The latest update from Cinemark corporate offices is that it looks as though they will begin to open in phases beginning this Friday, July 24. It's not certain yet if the Texarkana location will be open in this first phase however, it should be open within the next few weeks, as many theaters already have new summer releases beginning July 31, according to their press release.

Here are a few movies scheduled beginning at the end of July.

Unhinged on July 31 and The Broken Hearts Gallery on Aug. 7, followed by Mulan on Aug. 21, Bill and Ted Face the Music on Aug. 28, and A Quiet Place Part II on Sept. 4.

Cinemark theaters have been working hard behind the scenes to assure that every movie-goer will be healthy and safe when entering the theater as CEO Mark Zoradi explains in this video.

Each theatre will also have a designated Chief Clean and Safety Monitor on duty to ensure the highest standards of safety, physical distancing, cleanliness, and sanitization. It was earlier stated that no masks would be required but because of the latest mandates and guidelines handed down by the Governor, masks will be now required in the theater.

Remember, Cinemark will continue to pay close attention to the status of the virus, local mandates, and availability of new content while prioritizing the health and safety of their guests, employees, and communities.

Let me say this, don't know if I will ever get used to the new normal but I am ready to see some new movies, for sure.
