Certified Health and Safety Official Program at Texas A&M-Texarkana

Texas A&M University-Texarkana and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service have partnered to offer the TEEX Certified Safety and Health Official® Program.

The program will occur on the A&M-Texarkana campus. Seats are limited and the Texarkana program will begin May 16.

Awarded to more than 200 graduates annually, the TEEX CSHO Program targets industry professionals with responsibility for worksite safety and supervision to include related inspections and audits.

The CSHO Program can be completed in as few as 12 weeks and is comprised of two tracks: construction and general industry. All related courses linked to the program are delivered by industry-specific qualified subject matter experts.

VA benefits are eligible for use towards the CSHO Program.  Those who complete the TEEX CSHO courses are also eligible to apply them to associate and bachelor degrees at a number of institutions regionally.

With proof of successful completion, the TEEX CSHO will accept up to 50 percent of total required course hours in transfer from any OSHA Training Institute Education Center or at the OSHA Training Institute in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

After all training is completed, an application must be submitted to TEEX. Once processed, CSHO recipients receive a certificate, an ANSI-approved CSHO branded Hard Hat, and CSHO Challenge Coin. Graduates utilizing VA benefits to complete the CSHO training program also receive a TEEX Veteran Challenge Coin.

Industry professionals who have received a CSHO designation are eligible to pursue several CSHO endorsement options to include the following specialty areas; Wind Energy, Oil & Gas, Industrial Emergency Response, Environmental, Electric Power, Aviation, or Transportation.

Registration for CSHO courses at A&M-Texarkana is available on the TEEX website by typing the word “Texarkana” as the city.
