If you or someone you know is a Civil War Buff then don't miss the Battle for Jefferson Civil War Re-enactment Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6 in Jefferson, Texas. Just imagine more than 700 Civil War period re-enactors of soldiers and civilians re-enacting "The Battle for Jefferson".

According to their website:

Jefferson celebrates American history by hosting the largest Civil War reenactment in Texas. The one-time "King of Spades" river port becomes a palette for living history, with troops, civilians and sutlers camped throughout the downtown historic district and at Cypress River Ranch, the site of this year's full-scale battle.

Saturday, May 5 there will be a Parade and Downtown Skirmish at 10AM and a ticketed full-scale battle at Cypress River Ranch at 4PM. You can buy tickets for certain events in advance at http://battleforjefferson.com/tickets.html The ticketed events include a battle on Saturday and another on Sunday, a Ladies' Tea, and the Muskets & Magnolias Grand Ball.
