Where’s Doc? Historic B-29 Texarkana Visit Pushed Back To May
The big beautiful World War II B-29 bomber that flies by the name of Doc re-scheduled his visit to the Texarkana Regional Airport for a few weeks, but he's still coming.
I thought something was missing...
I was running through my "Just Plane Nuts" flight schedule the other day and realized my "Doc"tors appointment was initially scheduled for this week, I knew something was wrong, but this called for further investigation.
As I suspected, the B-29 Superfortress named Doc is still coming to Texarkana to see me, but the appointment was moved back to May 17 - 21.
B-29 Doc is scheduled to arrive at TXK, Tuesday, May 16, hosted by Signature Flight Support. Ground and flight deck tours will begin on Wednesday and continue Thursday and Friday, May 17-19, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Saturday and Sunday ground tours will be from 12 PM to 4 PM, immediately after morning ride flight schedules.

Ground and cockpit tour admission is $10 per person or $20 per family. You can purchase your tickets at the gate.
The public entrance for this event is at 501 Airport Drive, Texarkana, AR 71854.

I have been lucky enough in my radio career to fly in a B-17 twice, a B-24, a Stearman, and a T-6 Texan 3 times. This will be my first chance at an experience up close with B-29 named Doc and I am excited. Don't forget, I'm "Just Plane Nuts", I'll be there, will you?
