Astronaut Scott Kelly to Speak in Texarkana in April Tickets on Sale Now
This is going to be a great evening as the Farmers Bank Foundation presents astronaut, author, speaker, and retired U.S. Navy Captain Scott Kelly to Texarkana for a speaking engagement. It's all part of The Distinguished Speaker Series.
The event will be Thursday, April 7 and will help raise money for scholarships for Texarkana College and University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana students who earn their associate degrees and transition to Texas A&M University-Texarkana to complete their bachelor’s degree.
Can you imagine listening to this man? Scott Kelly list of accomplishments is incredable. He is a retired astronaut and Navy captain. He was fighter pilot, test pilot, and engineer. if you've watched the sky as the International Space Station flies over Texarkana he might have been in it. He's participated in four space flights and was the commander of the International Space Station (ISS) for three expeditions.
According to the press release, he was also a member of the 2015 year long mission on the ISS. This was a 340-day trip that studied the effects of long-term spaceflight on the human body. Kelly has also written three books.
There will be a dinner included with the lecture at 7PM on April 7 at the Hilton Garden Inn Texarkana Convention Center located at 2910 South Cowhorn Creek Loop in Texarkana, Texas. Tickets to the dinner and lecture are $100.
There will also be a private reception with Scott Kelly earlier at 5PM in the Farmers Bank & Trust Main Branch at 2900 St. Michael Drive in Texarkana, Texas. Tickets to this private reception, lecture and dinner are $200 each.
