Pete Townshend’s Biggest Regret: Being in The Who!

If you had to guess what guitarist PETE TOWNSHEND might consider his biggest regret... a lot of us would assume that it would be using his credit card to access a website with child pornography.

(Pete was investigated for hitting up the site back in 2003.  He claimed he was doing research for an article on child pornography that he was writing, and never downloaded any images.)

(He wasn't charged, but was issued a "caution," which in England is basically a formal warning.)

Pete's regret is:  Being in THE WHO.

He had this to say,

What would I have done differently?  I would never have joined a band.  Even though I am quite a good gang member and a good trooper on the road, I am bad at creative collaboration.

He added that if he wasn't in a band, his "ears, right wrist and shoulder would work more efficiently" now.

Instead, Pete said that he would've pursued a career sort of like BRIAN ENO'S... doing solo stuff and being a music producer.  (Eno spent a few early years in the band ROXY MUSIC, and has worked on his own and as a producer ever since.)
