J.W.’s News Update: Thursday October 27, 2011

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 1pm this afternoon in Texarkana, Arkansas. Ground will be broken on a Hotel/Convention Center that is to be built in the Crossroads Business Park, which is just north of Interstate 30 and east of Highway 71 (Stateline Avenue).

Texarkana, Texas has already broken ground on a Hotel/Convention Center of their own and construction is already underway on that venue which is located just east of Central Mall on Cowhorn Creek Road.

The Miller County Health Department is conducting a free flu shot clinic today until 3:30 pm at the Four States Fairgrounds. The shots are for people 6 months of age or older.

In Sports:

The Texas Rangers can wrap up their 1st ever World Series title with a win in Game 6 in St. Louis tonight. Colby Lewis takes the mound for the Rangers vs. Jamie Garcia for the Cardinals. If the Redbirds win then a deciding game 7 would be played Friday night in Missouri.
