The wrestler is widely regarded as one of the greats of the sport, who helped to grow the popularity of wrestling during its rise in the '70s and booming years of the '80s, when he was known as "The Nature Boy." He's been recognized as a 16-time WWE world champion, and has also helped to grow the sport and share his expertise as a wrestling manager as well.
