Wild About The West? Don’t Miss The New US Marshals Museum in Arkansas
If you are a fan of the wild west then you are going to want to see the brand new US Marshal Museum in Arkansas.
I just recently discovered Gunsmoke and I am hooked. So now it's all about US Marshals for me and the history of them keeping law and order in the wild, undeveloped and dangerous West in the 1800s all the way up to current times. the US Marshals Service began in 1789 are still working hard at investigating crimes, capturing fugitives, and helping with witness protection and extradition.
This museum has been 16 years in the making and Arkansas was the state that the United States Marshals Service chose to be the home of their national museum located in Fort Smith.
The shape of the building itself is based on the star that the US Marshalls wore and each leg of the star is host to the different gallies: To Be A Marshal, The Campfire, Stories Under The Stars, Frontier Marshals, A Changing Nation and Modern Marshals.
The US Marshals Museum opened just a couple of weeks ago on July 1. It is open daily 9 AM to 5 PM.
