Two Separate Shootings Over The Weekend in Texarkana, Ar One Deadly
Texarkana Arkansas Police are asking for help on information about 2 separate shooting that took place over the weekend in Texarkana Arkansas. Unfortunately one of the shootings was deadly.
First Shooting - Saturday Evening
The first one took place early Saturday evening April 30 as police officers responded to a shooting at 6:30 PM in the 900 block of Realtor Avenue in Texarkana Arkansas. Officers on the scene found a person sitting on the ground bleeding, police called an ambulance where the person was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
When officers arrived, they observed an individual seated on the ground bleeding. Officers immediately rendered aid and called for an ambulance.
Police then talked with witnesses and then located and arrested Sammie Brown, 22 of Texarkana Arkansas. Brown was charged with Battery in the First degree and Gangs, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle. He was brought to the Miller County Jail and was booked.
Second Shooting Early Monday Morning
The second shooting took place in the early hours of Monday, May 2 at 1:30 AM. Police were called to 333 Links Drive in Texarkana, Arkansas for a shooting.
According to a press release from the TAPD:
Officers found one deceased individual with an apparent gunshot wound. Officers notified the Miller County Coroner and the deceased individual's next of kin. The Criminal Investigation Division arrived and began gathering information and speaking to any witnesses about the incident.
This is an ongoing investigation.
