The Texarkana Museum Systems presents another event in their series of living history cemetery tours, "The Talking Dead" returns this Saturday night, September 4.

The Talking Dead is a series of Texarkana area historic cemetery tours with a narrator and live-action actors playing the parts of some of the people buried there. This Saturday night's event will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, on Hwy 67 a little North of the airport.

Texarkana Museum Systems Curator Jamie Simmons came in to talk to Lisa and I Wednesday morning to get us the low down on this Saturday's event. You can hear that interview below:

The actors work with microphones and everyone is issued a listening receiver to better hear the actors while portraying their roles. These include single-use earbuds or you are welcome to bring your favorite pair of buds, they will work with this system as well. There should be plenty of lighting along the way but if you would like to bring your own flashlight you are welcome to. The tour is wheelchair-friendly as well.

Jamie also gave us a little preview of the fund-raiser Draw Down event coming up later in September as well. Be sure ask about tickets for that while you're at it.

Tickets are $15 and are available in advance at the Texarkana Museum Systems office located at 219 N Stateline Ave. Call 903-793-4831 or email  Ahern@TexarkanaMuseums.org.
