The ‘KCS Holiday Express’ is Making a Stop in Texarkana
Texarkana is just 1 of 21 stops on the 14th annual run of the Kansas City Southern "Holiday Express" tour. At each stop, it is free for visitors to tour part of the 6 car train and visit with Santa and his elves.
The KCS Holiday Express will arrive in Texarkana at the KCS rail-yard at 4 p.m. on December 11. The event is free, and open to the public. Free shuttle buses will be provided by the city.
(PUBLIC MUST USE SHUTTLES. THERE IS NO PARKING AT THE RAIL YARD. THE PUBLIC IS ASKED TO PARK AT GRIM STADIUM ON SUMMERHILL ROAD, SHUTTLES WILL BE RUNNING BACK AND FORTH BEGINNING AT 5 P.M.)
Other stops close by include Jefferson, TX on December 10, and DeQueen, AR. on December 12.
Even though the event is free, donations are accepted to help with the purchase of gift cards that are then donated to the Salvation Army at each scheduled stop to purchase coats, warm clothing, and other necessities for local children.
