Texarkana Museum Systems “Dear Folks: Dramatic Readings of Wartime Letters’ Saturday

The Texarkana Museum Systems will have a  program called "Dear Folks: Dramatic Readings of Wartime Letters" on Saturday at the historic P.J. Ahern home.

The museum systems invite you to participate in their program 'Dramatic Readings of Wartime letters". This will take place at the PJ  Ahren Home in historic downtown Texarkana. The program begins at 2p on Saturday. This is what the Texarkana Museum Systems had to say about this event:

Come share these letters home from soldiers and letters of encouragement from the Home Front to gain a more personal perspective of the sacrifices made in wartime.

Admission to this event is free but seating is limited so make sure to reserve your spot now. Donations will be accepted and will go to the Texarkana Museum Systems Wilbur Smith Research Archive. In addition to the letter readings, there will be a mini-display of Victory letters and their importance during wartime in our country.

The historic PJ Ahern home was designed by the original owners in the early 1900's. The two-story home features four bedrooms, four baths, a butler pantry, a music room, and a screened-in porch that was added in 1918 for the kids to sleep in.

The PJ Ahern was purchased in 2011 by the Texarkana Museum Systems and is now a historic site. The PJ Ahern home is located at 403 Laurel Street in Texarkana, Arkansas.
