With the increase of COVID cases in Bowie County the Texarkana Independent School district sent out a reminder email to parents.

The district would like to remind parents of the important health and safety protocols (in accordance with the Texas Education Agency, CDC, and Health Department guidelines) and ask that you remain diligent in following these. They know that these protocols are helping to keep our students and staff members safe:

Do Not send your student to school if they are showing any COVID-19 related symptoms (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea).

Notify your student's campus immediately if they begin to experience any symptoms.

Notify your student's campus immediately if they have been in close contact and/or exposed to anyone who is exhibiting any symptom of COVID-19, who has been tested for COVID-19 for any reason, and/or who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Make sure your student is wearing a mask and/or face shield at all times. Masks must cover the nose and mouth.

Encourage your student to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from others, unless unavoidable.

Have your student wash their hands frequently.

Also, as the holiday season gets closer, they encourage all to please practice health and safety protocols while traveling and gathering with family and friends.
