Texarkana Animal Shelter Director To Step Down
The Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption center is Texarkana's animal shelter and is a department of the city of Texarkana Arkansas.
The current director for the Animal Care And Adoption Center, Kayla Turner, had this message on her Facebook page about her resignation.
Today I officially put my resignation in as Director of Animal Services of Texarkana Arkansas. I am moving back to Oklahoma where I am from. I will be doing an exclusive farewell interview with Heather Wright Deaton next week and be announcing the new Interim Director. I know many of you will be upset and this is a sudden change. I have to do what I feel is best for myself and my family at this point. I would appreciate it if everyone would refrain from commenting on how horrible this is. It isn’t.
The shelter is doing better than it ever has before, a new shelter that’s about to open, 1 million dollars to help even more. I’m leaving it in a good place for it to continue to blossom even more. It is and forever will be near and dear to my heart.
I will be randomly coming to Texarkana to continue helping the city manager and new director on ensuring it continues on the path it needs. I want to thank everyone who’s supported me throughout this experience. I gave up my life for that job and now I’m giving that job up for my life. I fixed what many thought I couldn’t, and now I’m on to the next project in life.
As of right now there has not been an official announcement for the city on this resignation, We will update you as we find out more.
