Congratulations to two Texarkana teachers as they have earned National Board Certification.

It's back to school time and as we all know our children need more protection and better protection after the events that took place in Uvalde, Texas back in May. That's why the TISD Board of Trustees had a special board meeting Thursday, August 11.

A few months ago we found out that the Texarkana Independent School District Board was looking at purchasing the old Pine Street School campus.

The Texarkana Independent School District has a summer feeding program for kids from 18 years of age and under in Texarkana and the surrounding areas.

Congratulations to the 2021-2022 Texarkana Independent School District Teachers of the Year.

Oh now, this would be great and a long time coming. Texarkana Independent School District is looking at the possibility to repurchase the old Pine Street Junior High School campus located at 1915 Pine Street in Texarkana.

Texarkana Independent School District announced this morning their intention of closing all campuses starting tomorrow, Wednesday, January 12 through Friday, January 14. Monday is a school holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day so, in-person classes will not resume until Tuesday, January 18.

What an amazing time we live in.  The education kids are receiving is so much more advanced than 20 years ago even 10 and 5 years ago. The Texarkana ISD recently announced an amazing new program in aerospace engineering.  This will give students the chance to learn all about this field hands-on.

A big congratulations going out to two teachers with the Texarkana Independent School District. Tara Droske and Robin Hilton were chosen as the Region VIII Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year, respectively. Next, they go up against a group of 40 regional teachers of the year to be considered for one of six state finalists.

It's almost time for kids to head back to school. The Texarkana Independent School District's first day of school is Wednesday, August 11. But before that, there are special Orientation Days and Meet the Teacher days too. Here is a rundown for all the TISD campuses.

Once again Texarkana makes a name for itself. This time congratulations to both Texas High School and to Pleasant Grove High School. Both schools have been given a great honor as the Pleasant Grove Hawk Yearbook and the Texas High Tiger yearbook were both recently recognized as two of the Top 100 publications in the country by the National Scholastic Press Association.
