Once again Texarkana makes a name for itself. This time congratulations to both Texas High School and to Pleasant Grove High School. Both schools have been given a great honor as the Pleasant Grove Hawk Yearbook and the Texas High Tiger yearbook were both recently recognized as two of the Top 100 publications in the country by the National Scholastic Press Association.

Texarkana Independent School District is proud to announce its Teachers of the Year. Congratulations to Tara Droske as Elementary Teacher of the Year and Robin Hilton as Secondary Teacher of the Year. Both have moved forward for consideration as Region VIII Teacher of the Year.

When summer hits kids are out of school but some kids are left without breakfast and lunch. Children still need nutritious meals in the summer months. The Summer Food Service Program provided by Texarkana Independent School District Child Nutrition Department means children and teens ages 18 and younger can a healthy breakfast and lunch throughout the summer at no cost. Big Congratulations to Texas High School! They competed in a Public Service Announcement video competition about distracted driving for the Texas Department of Transportation and they won!!

Big congratulations to the Texas HighSteppers and to the Tiger Theatre Company both achieving some great things! Texas HighSteppers earned a big award and the Tiger Theatre Company is advancing in one of their competitions.

It's hard to believe that spring is here. This time of year is the time to get your child registered for Pre-K and Kindergarten in the Texarkana Independent School District.  Pre-K and Kindergarten students can discover who they can be at TISD by getting enrolled in the 2021-22 school year during the registration period of April 1 – 30.

Creativity and hard work pay off. Here's a big congratulations for Texas High School’s TigerVision students that participated in the annual Student Television Network Convention. The event was held virtually last month. This year, more than 100 schools and 1,800 audio/video students competed through the virtual program.

Congratulations are in order for these two Texas High students! Jeremy Creek and Madelyn Snow, members of the Texas High School Varsity Mixed Choir and THS Tiger Tones, have earned the prestigious honor of being named a Texas All-State Musician.
