As the state of Texas celebrates 100 years of state parks, they are losing a state park that has been for almost 50 years and has approximately 80,000 visitors a year.

Start off your new year with a First Day Hike at Atlanta State Park or any one of the 89 Texas State Parks. This Saturday Texas State Parks are hosting a big variety of guided and self-guided tours so you can walk, bike or paddle your way into the new year.

Texas will honor all active and retired military by waiving daily entrance fees at all Texas State Parks, day-use visitors only, Sunday, Nov. 14.

My husband and I love to go camping. or should I say Glamping? Either way, we will be able to go camping again soon. In Texas, the state parks are open for day use only right now, but starting May 18 the camping will start back up but only if you already booked a spot. And of course, there are restrictions and regulations too.
