Yawning is contagious. Just not for humans, but dogs, too. In fact, people may instantaneously yawn just by hearing another person do it. Same for dogs. Though they're 5-times more likely to "catch a yawn" if the pet hears their owner yawning.

I believe that of all of the creatures on earth, none have bonded with man more than the dog.  I just LOVE these videos of dog's getting all excited when their people come home, and this is one of the best.

I have seen some of the photos of the dog laying at the casket of his fallen owner, a Navy Seal.
