T.A.S.D. Happenings
A lot of events are happening inside the halls of the Texarkana, Ark., School District.
The district will hold Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday, February 8. All parents of Pre-K through 12th grade students are encouraged to attend the event and visit with their child’s teacher. Conferences will be held at each campus from 1-7PM.
Students will not attend school on Monday, February 8.
Union Elementary – On Tuesday, February 2, from 1– 5PM, Union will hold its Financial Fitness event, a financial awareness program designed to help parents understand how to improve credit scores, increase personal capital, and save, spend and invest money. The program is designed to equip parents with the necessary tools to improve their financial status. Several organizations have partnered with Union to make the program successful. Bankers, tax preparers, real estate agents, and car dealership owners are among the many partnering agencies that will be onsite during the event to assist attendees with accessing their credit scores, set up savings accounts, financial planning and much more.
Union Elementary also will celebrate the 100th day of school on Thursday, January 28, at 1:30PM. All students have prepared for this day by incorporating the number 100 in their units of study. Kindergartners created images of themselves and shared what they would do at the age of 100 while older students used 100 to create unique math problems. Staff will dress in elderly attire as students parade the halls celebrating their work during the first 100 days of school. The parade will take place at 1:30PM on the 28th.
