Self Creek Lodge and Marina’s 8th Annual Chili Cook-off This Saturday
It's going to be a great weekend for chili and fun at the Self Creek Lodge and Marina's 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off on beautiful Lake Greeson in Kirby, Arkansas this Saturday, October 26.
Bring the family and a big appetite and try all the chili vying for first place. There are at least 10 teams that will compete this year. The chili teams will start cooking that morning and by noon you get to start tasting all the delicious chili.
There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and People's Choice which is judged by your donations.
Judging starts at 2PM and I am honored to be one of the judges again this year!
The fun will continue with a live auction with some great things up for bidding including a Mountain Harbor gift certificate that includes two nights lodging, use of a party barge, and $50 restaurant credit, a 50-inch flatscreen TV plus clothing and sporting goods from the Self Creek store and more.
All proceeds will go toward the Self Creek Lodge and Marina Scholarship Fund and Ryan's Call Foundation. According to their website, Ryan Swain was only 17 when he drowned in a duck hunting accident in 2013. Ryan's family set up the Ryan's Call Foundation to help other youth dealing with a sport's or other outdoor injury and to promote safety education and drowning prevention.
