A new Administrator has been named for the CHRISTUS St. Micheal Hospital in Atlanta. Congratulations to Brett Kinman. Kinman has been the Interim Administrator since May 1, 2020.

Kinman also serves as Administrator of CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center - Marshall, Texas and will divide his time between Atlanta and Marshall, as he has been doing effectively for the past 4 months according to a press release.

“A seasoned health care leader, Brett possesses an excellent understanding of the health care landscape in Texas and this region,” said Jason Rounds, FACHE, CHFP, President CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System. “He will continue to work with the outstanding professional medical team at CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital - Atlanta to build on the achievements over the past 7 years to deliver new technology, expanded services and updated facilities.”

Since CHRISTUS St. Michael engaged in the partnership with the Atlanta community to provide quality medical care to residents of Cass County in January 2013, the hospital has received the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal for National Quality Approval, Chest Pain Accreditation, and doubled Emergency Department capacity. Additionally, CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital - Atlanta provides an upgraded Level IV Trauma Center; Support Level III Stroke Care; teleneurology and tPa for treatment of strokes; advanced physician and nursing certifications in stroke, emergency and trauma care; pediatric emergency telemedicine; a new digital X-ray suite with upgraded CT scanner and 3D HD digital mammography for the most advanced technology for finding breast cancer early.

In addition to inpatient care and emergency services, CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital - Atlanta offers extensive outpatient services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cardiac pulmonary rehabilitation, an Infusion Center, laboratory services, a Sleep Disorders Center, wound care, and other imaging (radiology) services.

Prior to his role in Marshall, Kinman served as the Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer for Tomball Regional Medical Center in Tomball, Texas. Before the role in Tomball, he served as Chief Executive Officer for Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City, Arkansas. He holds a master’s degree in health care administration from Trinity University as well as a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University.
