Local Man Faces Charges for Alleged Rape and Giving Teen Drugs
A 55-year-old local man from Miller County, James Andrew Taylor is being held in the Miller County Jail on charges of an alleged rape of a 16-year old girl and the introduction of a controlled substance into the body of another teen back in early December.
According to TXK Today, and the MCSO, bail has been set at $150,000. In an affidavit, it was alleged that Taylor had agreed to pick up his former step-daughter near midnight on December 6. The girl who had agreed to sneak out of her home with Taylor was then taken to his residence on Miller County 105 where he offered her controlled substances of methamphetamine and marijuana.
The alleged rape occurred after Taylor watched pornography on a cell phone with the teenager in the back of a Chevy Suburban. A Nevada County detective informed the Miller County Sheriff's office on December 8, 2020, when he found the alleged victim sitting in a roadside ditch in Nevada County. The girl stated that Taylor drop her off on Rosston Highway at approximately 8AM.
In addition to being arrested for the alleged rape, Taylor has also been charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons. Authorities found a loaded rifle in his bedroom closet on January 4, 2021, the day of his arrest. If convicted of rape, Taylor could receive 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
